Vanity light not working

Featured Replies

The passenger vanity light isn't working in my Superb. Easy I thought, replace it with an LED and do a little upgrade at the same time. Swapped the drivers side first and marvelled in the extra light output. I then tried the passenger side and still no light output. Swapped the bulbs and carriers around but not dice. Got the old multi-meter out and measured the voltage; it was precisely.... 0.00v!

Where else should I be checking to see why it in't working?

Thanks

I would guess that this is the switch inside the sun visor.

If it is, then it is inaccessible, and replacement (as in: a new sun visor) is the cure.

If you check your driver's side, you will see the switch is operated by the mirror door, and by the extreme up/down position of the visor

I suspect the contacts just need cleaning and/or adjusting, but there is no way in to it that I can see.

Well i've just been out to check the connections to the vanity mirror and I can't get it out! I have unscrewed the screw that is visible on the holder, it moved down but now is resolutely stuck. How do I get it out without damaging it? It feels like another screw or connector is holding it in place.

Thanks
