vRS specs, colours, wheels etc

Featured Replies

After playing with the configurator last Sunday I emailled SUK Customer Services for some more information about colours, wheels and leather option and asked the dealer the same midweek who also had to get in touch with SUK. He wasn't happy about the slow SUK response to me. Others on here have also raised the same questions so here is the official response from SUK which may help some of you.

Colours

"The Octavia vRS is available in the following colours

Exclusive to the vRS

Meteor Grey

Rally Green Metallic

Sprint Yellow Special

Standard colours

Candy White

Black Magic Pearl

Race Blue Metallic

Brilliant Silver Metallic

Steel Grey from 09 September 2013

Rio Red Metalic from 09 September 2013

Metal Grey Matallic from 11 November 2013"

From postings in other threads I thought that Steel Grey was being deleted from the option list. Or was it Platin Grey or..... And we are to get another one - Metal Grey!!!!!! Just how many shades of silver / grey do we need on the roads? Race blue is becoming even more attractive by the minute.

Does anyone have a clue what Rio Red will actually look like?

Wheels

For me this started because there were 5 options mentioned in the June press relase but only 2 on the configurator. But who wants 17" wheels on their vRS anyway so only 4 really.SUK said:-

"The 19" Extreme alloy wheel that was shown at Goodwood is a new accessory alloy wheel that has not been released for ordering yet.

The alloys which are currently available for the ŠKODA Octavia vRS are as follows:

Standard 18-inch Gemini anthracite alloy wheels Optional 18-inch Gemini alloy wheels or 18-inch Pictoris alloy wheels"

Why make such a big thing of the Xtreme 19" in all the publicity shots and then not have it available to order? If it is an accessory this presumably means "dealer fit" rather than factory order. I asked about cost - still waiting!

So the silver Gemini is available here as an option. I assume a no cost option like the Pictoris. Geminis look easier to clean (my pet hate) than the Pictoris that seems to be on every demonstrator in the country. Has to be silver not anthracite with Race Blue!

Unanswered

Like others I'd like to see a decent photo of the full leather option (there is one very poor shot floating about on the net - see the link at the end). I asked but ......

I also asked about the whether it was possible to spec the heated windscreen & headlamp washers without the heated seats (which seem pointlass on the standard interior). No answer to that one either.

I'm going to follow up on the o/s points with SUK & will update everyone when (if?) I get a response.

This French link seems to have every vRS photo yet produced.

"But who wants 17" wheels on their vRS anyway"?

I do.  When the tyres on my 2012 FL MKII vRS need replacing I will also be replacing the wheels with 17"  items - hopefully also lighter than the heavy Neptunes.

I am less likely to ever purchase a MkIII if it has 18" wheels.

I could be interested in that swap in a year or so.  But you being in Ireland doesn't help.  How come your 2012 vRS has 17" wheels?

In Ireland 18s were an option, all vrs,s up to end 2012 had 17 inch zeniths. 2013 models came with 18 inch neptunes.

Still no electrically foldable mirrors listed as available on the VRS by the look of it.

But presumably there's an option code out there somewhere for them....(like the Mk2 FL had)
