VRS ordered

Featured Replies

Yesterday I placed my order for a new VRS Tdi DSG estate. I've gone for white with the grey interior and anthracite Gemini alloys with the following options:

Black Pack

Columbus Sat Nav

Kessy

Intelligent Park Assist

Winter Pack

Cruise Control

Variable boot floor

Colour maxidot

I got a great guaranteed PX on mine and can't wait for delivery. All I have got to do now is confess to the wife!

nice one. Enjoy. Just trying to sort some details for a simliar order. Need a slightly better p/x value and a bit of too'ing and fro'ing on other bits as well.

I like the red instead of the grey interior but otherwise - enjoy!

Did you finance it? If so what are your rough monthly payments?

I'd be interested to get an idea of the figures you were given. Tried to do a deal today on a car that was already at port (dealers choice, therefore not my preferred spec) but couldn't get the dealer to really knock anything off the car. I was only going for 4-5% too!

I worked on the cost to change rather than individual discounts, so I didn't get much of a discount on the new car but I felt I got a generous PX price that's fixed so it doesn't matter when the car is delivered. I'm paying about £370 month which is actually less than what I'm paying for my mkii at the moment.

Also ordered a vrs on Saturday !

Combi, White, Gemini anthracite, Red interior, Black pack, Cruise, Priv glass. And now the wait !

almost the same spec as i'm considering (minus the combi) - any ideas on wait times?

Was unsure, was told it could be late Sept at the earliest. Will have weekly updates, so will keep posted.

Sounds a good spec, I was torn between the red and grey interior. I haven't been given an estimate on delivery yet should find out more this week hopefully.

cheers - just my car is due an MOT in mid september so I'm "hoping" i can arrange something before then. Either that or sweet talk dealer into a loan car or something!

I ordered one on the 24th July. Provisional build of week 40 (last week of September/first week of October) plus allow three weeks to get to the dealer so I may see it late October early November.

I'm tempted to have a look myself, have any of you got a fl vrs? If so what p/x are you getting? Also what does that make your "cost to change" be? If you do not want to post on open forum please pm me.

Ive got a 6 month old Blackline DSG Combi and had a brainwave....."wonder if I can get out of my car at no cost to change with lower monthly payments care of the 0% offer"......needless to say my hopes were dashed.

Offered a good part ex, would of been able to write off my finance I reckon but dealer was unable/unwilling to offer any discount on the list price of the car. Was therefore faced with putting a couple of k down again and having higher monthly payments than I do now. I left it right there.

Someone has suggested on here that dealers have approx. 14% margin in the cars and when you take the 0% offer SUK hold back 6 or 8% of that leaving only 6 or 8% left for the dealer to play with. Most dealers will want to make at least 5% margin id have thought otherwise they'll be making very little out of the deal so essentially theres little room for discount.

This is fairly much what I thought. I'd need spec for spec so once you start kitting out the new octavia it becomes a very expensive motor.

Though if a dealer would do a fullu kitted out petrol dsg estate for around 23k and gave a good px.......I'd be very tempted.

Alas I don't think that will happen.

Its true dealers have a 14% margin on their cars. Some dealers will not budge on list price at all, but others will so its worth shopping around. Dont be afraid also to tell the dealers of the other dealers you are shopping at. Motorline vs caffyns etc. I ended up getting a great discount by doing this.

Just to update I was told that my build week has come forward to week 37 so less that 5 weeks! I can't wait oh and I have now added Canton and sunset glass to the original order, I think the sooner the order is locked the better I keep thinking about adding more options!
