rust repair

Featured Replies

hi guys im new to all of this but i own a white skoda felicia 1996 and i have some surface rust on both back quarters just wanna ask for some advise how the best way to treat it without pying out ££££ for a full re spray thanks.

Hi, I've been using the Hammerite rust treatment kit, comprising a treatment gel to treat/stabilise the metal once prepared & an anti-rust base coat/primer applied in readiness to receive the top finishing coat. Around 12 quid from Halfords & seems to work really well. The primer is far less porous than conventional & is more of what I was looking for on my 99 pick up.

Mechanically good but corrosion is the constant enemy on Fellys & the trick is keeping on top of it (feels like a full time job at times!).

Rob ;)

Surface rust, cutting compound/ "T' cut.

Anything more rub down to reach below rust, treat rust area, (maybe use some filler) then slowly build-up layers of under-coat and top coats gradually.
