Steering Column Earth Stud Location

Featured Replies

I'm in the process of installing a USB port in the drivers side dash. Using all the same components as Dallan, however as yet my attempt does not work!

I'm using the piggyback blade fuse, wired through to two USB ports in parallel (the 5v, 3A jobs). I'm using what I think is the steering column earth (underside of steering column about a foot back from the wheel with a nut on a stud retaining a connector for a brown wire).

Octavia II vRS estate TDI with a boring no gimmicks steering wheel. Once I've figured out how, I will get some photos posted. Any thoughts on where I'm going wrong!?

I used a screw in the fusebox, just put the wire behind the plastic
