is it easy to remove the projector unit from the headlight unit and reassemble? I just want to look at something I have been thinking of doing, but don't want to pull it out, but not be able to reassemble......

Because I occasionally toy with the idea of fitting some bi-HID' projectors, I have looked at some stateside sites which show how to do it.  Heating in an oven and then carfully prising it apart.  Works on utube, YMMV.

Morimoto site rings a bell

Someone on here cut round the back to fit his flappy dipping projectors. 

The complete headlamp units come up on ebay for £40-50, so not the end of the world.  Or maybe a bodyshop would have one with broken bits you could experiment with.

so to clarify, I would need to go in by removing the lens. was hoping it was not so invasive and all the internals disassembled and came out the back. oh well.....
