After my little mishap, I find this dangling down by the horn (behind nearside bottom grille aperture). It may have been dangling for a long time, but from the clean part on the lever I suspect it was connected to something or other. It's obviously a position sensor of some sort, but for what?

 

Part no. on the plug is 1J0 973 702, which doesn't help since it's the part number for the plug itself.

 

Apart from that, the bumper and nearside indicator, nothing hurt, except pride.

Pride hurts the most.... except for broken bones.

 

no idea what that is tbh mate....

Oh well, will be jacking it up tomorrow, but for now, too much to do. :(

I think it's the ambient air temp sensor.

yes thats the external temp sensor, its slots into the bumper and is fitted with a screw from the front

 

Ahhhhhhh, that's why it's hanging then. Kaboom!
