1968 Triumph Herald

Featured Replies

Here we have for sale, my dads 1968 (1300) Triumph Herald convertible. He has owed it for a few years, he is still alive but isn’t very computer savvy so I have done the advertising for him. He absolutely loves this car and spends as much time in and around it as possible, however in his age he has developed a deaf ear, and can’t actually hear anything when he is driving with the roof down or up!. Not bad I guess when the Mrs is in the car! So he wants to sell it on and get something that doesn’t affect him in that way.

So, enough of the sympathy, on to the car…

About 2005 the car underwent a full ‘body off’ restoration. Amongst other things it has had a new roof, all round suspension, floor panels, exhaust, wooden steering wheel, 5 new recent tyres, overdrive fitted and on dash starter button. It is tax exempt and has twelve months MOT since 29th July. I believe there is some service history with the car, plus 4k worth of restoration receipts to be included.

You are welcome to view the car whenever you want, he is based in Kidderminster and would love to show it off. Please call Dan on 07862235634 or Moe on 07523663273 any time to arrange or if you have any questions. He is after £4500ovno for it

The car might be listed elsewhere too, so I may remove it from ebay if I wish.

If you’re not really a Herald fan, here is some info on the car…

The Triumph Herald is a small two-door car introduced in 1959 by the Standard-Triumph Company of Coventry. Body design was by the Italian stylist Giovanni Michelotti and the car was offered in saloon, convertible, coupé, van and estatemodels.

Total Herald sales numbered well over 500,000 and the Vitesse, Spitfire and GT6were all based on modified Herald chassis and running gear with bolt-together bodies. Heralds are still seen on British roads in the early 21st century.

You can see snippets of my fabia vrs in there too. also for sale soon too :)

I had a Herald convertable back in the 1970's and loved it.  Did about 65k miles in the time I owned it. Engine was bulletproof, but suffered from the dreaded  tinworm. Your dads looks very smart indeed.
