Yes, it's finally arrived - collecting the first new car I've ACTUALLY bought myself after 38 years in Daily Rental having been given them for free.

 

It's a Rosso Brunello 1.2 Elegance and I'm so pleased to be getting it, several demo cars have convinced me that this it the one.

 

Will update this post but, so far, the dealer ( Vindis, Bury St Edmunds ) has been exemplary. Ordered May 15th and delivery now - can't be bad.

 

Would have bought used except that not a lot to save 'cos they hold their price and wanted a few options not always available on used. Also we didn't want Silver, Grey, Silvery Blue, Silvery Green, Silvery Cappucino or such derivations on Silver which seem to be all that are available used.

 

Will have to change my Briskoda name soon,   ' awyeti '   OK?

 

 

 

Fabia is now in 'for sale' section if anyone wants a cherished 1.6 '57 reg hatch in Cappucino Beige.......

Snap, collecting Jaws tomorrow, 1.2 Elegance manual in Shark Blue, ordered 22/7 with delivery 10 days later! can't be bad, slight compromise on the colour as the dealer had a cancellation but was able to thrash out a good deal.

Surprise and delight! Brilliant handover by David at Vindis , Bury St Edmunds. Nothing too much trouble to explain. Will spend the next few days reading up how to use all the toys on it - especially the programmable electric driver's seat.

This is it!

Just come back from 1st run - west London and back to collect my 93 year old Dad. Round trip of 175 miles, good and improving average fuel consumption up to 38 mpg. Anticipate mid 40s when engine frees off.

Enjoyed the raised seating position, we previously had Galaxys and Scenics so glad to have it again.

Dad said back seat too firm - expect it to soften with use.

Air-con seemed to have a noisy fan but maybe it's just bedding in.....

Will be back with further observations.
