When dropping gearbox to do a clutch change. Does any gearbox oil come out??? Or is this a stupid question? Also how long would it take for a couple of people with basic mechanics knowledge to do a clutch change on a 02 vrs?

couple of hours id say but if the engine mount comes away from drivers side you be in trouble lol my clutch change took 3 weeks lol the garage was **** 

Shall look out for that. Is there any risk of gearbox leaking? That's a concern.

I'm going to do mine, and also install my LSD

It's not hard but take your time

When I do it I take out the drivers side input shaft as well so taking box out is simple 5mm Allen key the block hole with rag

Make sure you have the multi spline socket for the drive shafts and the clutch plate ;-)

Undo the slave with the 13mm save you losing fluid

thanks for responses... it does sound like a lot of work, and I'm not very mechanicaly minded so I'm thinking I may have to pay for it to be done, multi spline????? not got a clue. it all sounds a tad daunting :( bit of a bugger cos after buying clutch kit not left much cash for fitting to me octy... she may have to stay poorly abit longer
