Ok, currently have an octavia hatchback and thinking about when to change and what to. Been leaning more and more towards a Yeti but not sure on the following...

The Octy has rather spoilt us with the boot size, would a Yeti prove disappointing in comparison?

Seen varied reports of a seven seat version next year, does anyone know if that is true?

September sees the MY14 launched, does anyone know if that's the only upcoming change or will there be a completely updated model in the next 12 months?

Sorry for all the random questions, just want to make sure the choice is right and I don't end up disappointed!

Cheers

Steve

To get some terminology out of the way: the MY14 Yeti has been in production since about June this year and is the current Yeti. What you're talking about is the Facelift (FL) Yeti, due to be revealed in more detail at Frankfurt next month, but no-one expects it to be more than a minor refresh of the current model. For more details (and endless speculation, a lot of it quite wide of the mark) look for Facelift threads like this one:

A new Yeti model (Yeti 2, as opposed to FL) is not expected before about 2016 AIUI. A 7-seater may appear earlier in the Chinese market, but not necessarily in Europe. There might well be further details on this after Frankfurt.

Re boot space, yes it will be more limited than Octavia, but two comments: Yeti has limited depth but much more vertical height. If you can pack vertically then it's surprising what it will hold. And, it all depends whether you're prepared to have one or all of the back seats flat (or tumbled forward or removed altogether). If so then there is quite a lot of space. But 4 or 5 up then you need to be thinking vertically.
