so if i get either of these pads can anyone confirm what the life is like on these pads also can anyone recomend discs to go with them that are slightly better quality than oem all help is much appreciated

Not really worth it, Pagid are ok.  Spend the money on pads and fluid.

Sorry to hi-jack this thread but do octys benefit from dot 5 fluid?

Gold/200 not Blue

blue rots your clutch ;)

(unless they've fixed it - which I haven't heard)

Monkfish

I did not know that!

Nor did I until a few yrs ago

Garage refused to use what I'd supplied - told me to go google it and gave me free oe spec fluid

The gold is exactly the same stuff, without the dye

its was designed to be used by ate blue - gold - blue - etc so you know when you've got the new stuff

just get OEM pagid disks and pads and put the money you save towards a set of HEL braided lines

so can anyone find the mintex 1144 or ferodo ds2500 on camskill for the octy vrs ??? as there must be cheaper places then fleabay that stock these pads

They arent cheap pads mate.

Youve spent enough on the car by the looks of it that another few quid wont matter.

yeah i noticed mate i dont mind paying the money just gotta save where i can and just wanna make sure 100 per cent if i order them they do fit the vrs are u running these pads at all mate as was only gonna go with the mintex as on camskill were 40 quid cheaper than ebay

Pagid discs and pads here, no complaints.

I've got Mintex plain discs, bought from who knows where, and Ferodo DS2500 pads which I bought from Camskill for £154 I seem to remember. They're a marked improvement over the previous pads, which were also Mintex, but to be honest they stopped the car perfectly fine, just not quite as quickly and of course they had a tendency to fade when used hard and repeatedly. No fade from the DS2500's though.....and they also work perfectly from stone cold.

Until you've upgraded you're pads, everything else is irrelevant  in my experience

Doesn't how many pistons you've got or what size your disks are

just get OEM pagid disks and pads and put the money you save towards a set of HEL braided lines

Don't suppose you have a link or part numbers? I shall be going this way when I next fit pads, since I'll have to replace rear calipers anyway. (Rear nearside bleed nipple is seized solid :( )
