Oil temp

Featured Replies

Hi guys, in my vrs BL dsg, the oil temp can get upto 105 degrees, after some hard work and soon falls back to around 95 when things steddy up a bit. Is this normal, what temps do yours get to?

I hired a VW transporter last year with the 2.0 CR 140bhp engine in it.

Out of interest I kept the oil temp displayed on the Maxidot for the 1500 miles I drove it. 100c seemed to be the normal oil temp in summer time.....sometimes rising to 105-110c when going uphill. So your oil temps seem completely normal.

105 is fine. Mine tends can be anywhere from 85 to 105 and possibly higher depending on the outside temperature and how I'm driving.

Sounds about the same as mine. I've seen mine up at 111 degrees but that was after really giving it some and it dropped back down to 95 after 3-4 mins

My Vrs CR usually sits around 92-94 but if it has done some hard work (hills etc) then it will go above 100 and highest has been 103.

Ok thanks to everyone, stands to reason I suppose as the warter will be this hot or hotter, and that cools the engine/ oil. Yep cheers ill keep on as before then!!

Is the oil temp only on maxidot?

Is the oil temp only on maxidot?

Yes. It only registers if the oil is above 50 degrees otherwise it just shows 3 dashes
