Came across this car acceleration simulator - Vimulator.....

170 mph in a Mk Fabia, took 4 mies to get there but they did have the gearing ie 37 mph/1000 revs.

Must have well over 250 hp to reach that speed. 5.5 seconds to 60 mph also must have needed good conditions and tyres and driving.

Interesting.......Land Rover Disco 2.5TDI, assuming an 80% throttle (because you don't mash the peddle into the firewall in reality) gives a 0-70 time of about 24 seconds, where I then dropped to 50% throttle.

In the real world, as an owner who's done a bit of motorway work, I'd say that was about right, though the simulator holds onto the revs far longer than the auto box in practice.

Likewise for the Mondeo.....there's no way you'd hang on to the gears as long in reality, but seems about right with a 0-60 of about 12 seconds.....it even reflects the odd hesitancy to get back on the power..... :giggle:
