Thats why you skip every stage and go straight to hybrid.

Granted i am replacing every bush and suspension component on mine. so the only thing to go wrong will the the gearbox and most of the electrics! :giggle:

Doh, just accidently lost the post I typed - Time to do it again...

Just as an update i've had the exhaust fixed, new rear brakes, a new track rod and tracking, a new alternator, all new bulbs (because the alternator blew them when it died) as well as 2x services, a new sump and oil pickup.

I've put in a Sony XAV-601 double din mirrorlink headunit which is pretty cool :)

I've got a white alcantra and black leather set of recaros to go in aswell, (just waiting on a mate to do the wiring) and I bought an FMIC.

I'm looking for an exhaust currently so I can take the next steps and get a custom remap. If anyone has a decent aftermarket exhaust system for sale PM me! :)

Cheers

It's with a heavy heart I have to pull the plug on this project. Unfortunately, I've found this (see pics). Even though it was HPI clear when I bought it and it had full history etc etc. I did not have a clue. I thought there was a previous slight repair possibly, but I never had any idea it would be this bad. Absolutely gutted. I bought it from a garage called Powerline Cars

I complained soon after I bought it because of some other issues but they never returned my calls or e-mails.

As I've started modifying it makes sense to break it because i'm sure it will be worth more in bits, and I don't think I fancy a long drawn out case with trading standards etc.

Just annoying as it was covered up quite well. Theres probably no strength on the inner sills as the metal is bent/twisted from an impact so I wouldn't contemplate keeping it or selling it on to another unsuspecting person (maybe i'm too honest).

I'll start a breaking thread once i've got another runabout..

Cheers, and RIP red octavia! :( :( :(

What a shame! Looks a right mess there :(

Sorry to hear that man looked like this was gonna be a good one to watch. Any ideas on the next runaround?

Bad times :(

Don't break her, sounds like you've already got time and money in it, worst case, new inner sills at a bodyshop? don't write it off before a second opinion; love is always worth a fight ;)

And take the garage to trading standards, don't let them get away with it. Sounds like they're a right shady bunch.

Ha they were. But nevermind.. I don't really have the time to fight a big battle over it due to work etc.

tbh, it's not worth pumping that much money into it unfortunately as much as I liked the car. It's annoying as I just got the point where everything was starting to run well! and the car was near on perfect.

I could of driven round in it for a couple more years, or even sold it on, but the standard of the job isn't great and i'd rather it helps some other skodas in better condition stay on the road!

Might try a mk2 next :)

Nooooo!! Black magic mk1! You know you want the fastest colour they made ;)
