Thanks everyone for the responses, I've decided to go for a 130pd over a 1.8t and going to look at an a6 tomorrow. I'd prefer the l&k octavia but the ones I can find are a fair bit more than the audis

MPG is slightly worse in the a6 but I'm guessing thats down to the weight difference? I've read the only difference between the 2 cars is the map and obviously the gearbox but I could always stick a 6 speed into the a6 :D

Will see what happens tomorrow after the test drive :)

If you're going for Audi I would advise an A4 B6 as it's a much nicer looking car than the A6, & will hold it's value much better. If it's space you need then the A6 will work for you. Both the A4 & A6 are heavier than the Octy which will refect in mpg, but it's not much difference.

My advice if you have enough budget is look for a 6 speed A4 130 Sport. Another really good buy is the VW Bora 130 Sport 6 speed. Ok it's not as good looking as a Golf, but the Sport spec is high, & the boot is big. I've owned 2 Bora's, & they're really great cars. With lowered suspension & 18's the Bora's look very cool too.
