new brakes !!

Featured Replies

Hi

upgraded my 1.3 felicia for a 1.6 !! (no expense spared in my household !!)

vast improvement as it now pulls up hills, but the brakes leave a bit to be desired when pushing it as they tend to suffer from fade

looking to upgrade any help would be most welcome

it's a T reg 1.6 glxi (pre ABS)

also thinking of new shockers / and rubbers at some stage

cheers Tronski

Welcome to Briskoda from a fellow Felicia 1.6 owner. :wavey:

Hello :wavey:

I'd say something like Ferodo FDS610 pads and some decent fluid would help (a fluid change probably wouldn't go amiss anyway). No need for anything fancy as it doesn't have the power of today's turbo nutter hatches (no offence intended) so why "waste" the money.

Or you could try some EBC greenstuff pads. I'd say they'd be jolly good on something with your power to weigh ratio. They also do uprated shoes for the rear :D

As for suspension, H&R do a sport spring kit for the Felicia and you could try running these with some Koni uprated shocks (the red ones). Available from http://www.europerformance.co.uk

Hope that helps.

Hi thanks for the hello's and advice

will get my "mechanic" to upgrade my brakes as suggested. Will let you know how it goes (or stops)

cheers

Whay!

I used to have a 1.6 T reg Felicia! They really are a smashing car, and the engine is really suited to it. Nice choice mate! Not white per chance is it?

IIRC, the brakes are not ventilated, hence the fade. They used to get quite toasty and making interesting noises when overheating! I can only suggest a pad and disk upgrade to help things. I'm not sure there is an easy upgrade from another car or an off the shelf package...
