Just managed to snap the knob off my electric mirror switch

 

I've had a search round the site, but can't find any instructions on removing the switch. Is it a "door card off" job or does the switch come out from the front?

Get between the switch panel and the handle housing with a plastic wedge or carefully with a screw driver and the switch and panel will pop out.  Unplug the switch and you'll be able to remove it from its panel.

You have to remove the switch before you can remove the door trim.  Nothing worse than snapping your kn*b off 

I regularly see them broken off - often when someone has had to push the car. Be VERY CAREFUL when you release the switch trim panel - it is very easy to break off the retaining lugs.

You can fing these knobs as aftermarket units(cheap),but are only made for MK4 Golf and the light will be red,otherwise it fits perfectly
