Joined this site yesterday and thought I would introduce myself. I have a Mk1 Octavia Tdi Auto which I bought new in 2003. At the moment I have only done 44,000 miles. Yesterday I had a quote to replace the cam belt, water pump and tensioner of £658 this seems a heck of a lot. Any thoughts would be appreciated

That's quite a quote, as mentioned above find a good independent garage, there's a few people from Essex on here, might be worth you asking for a recommendation.
