What is the highest mileage anyone has seen on a VRS?   I know the diesels can do 200k with ease, just wondering if the VRS can live up to such standards!

A taxi vrs round Halesowen has 230k and this was 6 months ago. He's still driving it now.

If looked after the pd engine could be good for over 400k I believe.

I'm on 129k so just nicely run in lol!

Same as mr rooney, my VRS is on 129k.  So 400k can be seen on the PD engine, that is serious miles!!

Saw a black one on ebay which had been lpg converted with over 200k on the clock

Ive seen a 1.8t in a seat leon with 210k it was a sport model i think so 180bhp must be a similiar engine to VRS highest mileage vrs ive seen was 176k mines on 124k at present

My brother had one up 170k iirc

Apparently VW in the USA were given a 500k 1.8T engine which had been religiously serviced & when stripped down showed no sign of wear!!!!!!

My A4 PD130 has just turned 188k & going strong.

My vRS has just ticked over 138k. Just passed an MOT with no advisories (after changing the crap raceland suspension)

Usually the running gear / body work will give up well before the engine so it's important to look after those parts just as much as the engine.

While on holiday in Greece some years ago i was treated to a ride in a Merc diesel Taxi that had just over 400 k kilometers and it was imaculate! They guy was obsessed with it. He told me he spends all his time in between driving it cleaning and servicing it.

On my ride to the airport he suddenly swerved to the left causing me to nearly fall out of the side window! Turns out he was avoiding a puddle on the road from a leaking pipe!

1.8t 4x4 bought at 70k LPG converted and now coming up on 160k. Plan is to get to 250k before considering a replacement.
