Sport stripe

Featured Replies

I was looking at the Citygo Sport in the show room yesterday when I called in to complete paperwork.  I noticed it is not painted on.  Surely this (felt like paper) sticker will cause all sorts of problems with washing and polishing etc?????

If it's paper, well yes.

Are you sure it's not matt vinyl? Even then, I could see issues with polish residue building up at the edges, and possibly with it coming unstuck.

My Dad's first ever new car had vinyl stripes as standard, and almost everyone opted to have them taken off at the PDI.

It's vinyl. Not sure why it should cause any problems with washing etc. Manufacturers have been using such a solution for years for stickers, stripes etc with no issues.

Most car manufacturers use 3M vinyl. This is a good quality product and doesnt peel like the cheap stuff. Only thing they do say is not to use a power washer or jet to close but other than that you can wash as normal :)

I want my stripes off my red Sport! Can I just pull them off without damaging the paint underneath? Does anyone know?

Also, it's got Lifeshine - does it matter that the ex-striped areas will now be untreated? Be grateful for opinions.

I had my middle stripe removed off my white sport before I picked it up. The dealer did say it was a lot harder than they thought it would be to get it off! So might be a little hard to remove?!

Anyone with experience of stripe removal? :)
