Philbes,

look at it this way, you have probably been driving a number of years and also driven/owned a number of cars which just goes to show that a VRS is a fantastic vehicle as you have based your choice of vehicle on all your exprience !

Still blow away the youngsters in their Vauxhall corsas, put a smile on your face and go a good few hundred miles between tanks !

VRS - Best value mid sized family car on the market today by a mile !

You're so kind.  Yes, I have been driving for 47 years and have driven a total of around 850,000 miles.

Best previous car was probably the 1989 Sierra 2.8 XR4x4 (that was also black).  Four wheel drive and first car I drove with ABS.  My current diesel vRS has more power, is faster, much better equipped and has considerably better fuel consumption.

Worst car (for its time) was a 1.8 Sierra L that I was given as a temporary company car when starting a new job around 1993.

A list of my cars shows no brand loyalty except for a run of 3 Nissan Primeras.

Got my 1st vrs at the age of 52

Bought my 2nd one last October the day I turned 54.

Got my 3rd one ( combi ) last week and will be 55 soon eonough,

Not finished with them yet :)

47 remap suspension mods, louder exhaust all to come. It's a bland looking box that works well, and could work very well. If I didn't own the skud, my driveway would be adorned by a far sexier alfa to look at and listen to.

I bought my vRS in April '11, when I was 63, swapped it for the Superb in February this year when I was 65.

Been driving since May '66, & owned a fair few cars in my time. Owned /leased a total of 6 Mondeos, & I've still a soft spot for them, probably gonna keep my Mk 3 V6 for ever!

I didn't think much of the Fl Octy2, but since SWMBO bought hers last April I've driven it quite a bit & enjoyed it.

If she ever decides to get rid of it I might be tempted to buy it for the occaisional "red mist" day..........

(One never reveals a ladies age, but I'm two years older...... )The car seems to suit her very well, imagine a very respectable granny but driving with a certain determination & lead boots.....

It's certainly quicker than her previous VW 2.0 TFSi EOS & probably the Mazda RX8 she ran for a year some time ago.

Bought mine at 21 now 22. Best car ive owned.

34 and I have a 62 CR vrs previous to the Skoda I've had 1.8T leon Cupar, Clio 172, Clio 16v, punto sporting and my first car was a Vauxhall Nova SR lol

57 retired and loving it!

First skoda for me at 23, absolutely love it! But also being the baby face type I have the "is that your dad's car" comments also lol

Bought mine at 23, now 24 :)  Never looked back!

42 - Got it when I was 40 so slap-bang in middle age territory. Before that I had a TDi 140 so worked my way up :giggle:

In my defence I got the mid-life crisis car out of the way in my late 20s when I had a Fiat Barchetta..

PS - forgot this: Best car I've owned.

36, got the vRS last year as we had our son on the way and the Ford Ka's boot was not up to the job any more.

49 for me and when I looked around a year ago for a 2.0TSi equiped car this vRS just made so much sense £14.5K with two years warranty - equivalent Golf would have been about 3K more.

Much more practical than the Golf, moves 4 adults in comfort.

got mine when I was 32 to replace my 306 xsi. I'm now 36 and the car hasn't let me down yet.

30 5 weeks ago, I've had my Octy vRS for 3 months, owned a Fabia vRS for 5 years before that.

I brought mine when I was 21 and I'm now 25.

Bought mine as I'm going to be a Dad and need larger boot and 5 doors. Didn't want to compromise, so bought the vRS

If I'm honest, the Octavia in standard guise is absolute grandad material. The vRS trim definitely drops the age bracket.

I'm 43 and have had my vRS for about 10 months....first Skoda ever!  Before that most of my cars were Ford - last one being my ST TDCI Mondeo, which I still think was a great car (my dad owns it now...he thinks it's great too)....but I needed a change and here I am!!  My car is an '11 plate (petrol.....decided to go back to this as my annual mileage has decresed a good bit of late)  and is pretty much stock.....not started mapping and modding yet....who knows, I might not.....although as the Mondeo got tweaked, I can see the vRS getting some things done once the warranty is up!

I'm 50 and bought my vRS as a birthday prezzie to replace the 1.8T Elegance I had for the previous 12 years.

I'm 44 and on my second VRS, bought the first one 9 years ago. I guess I am that middle aged man! oh no!

60, and had the petrol FL VRS for just over a year - love it.

Mind you, I did have to admonish the 30 something BMW 320 diesel owner who asked if I was having a mid-life crisis!!

35. Needed a good size family car that was still sporty. This ticked all the boxes!
