OK so I need a new starter.

 

Went to a local parts place and he tried to tell me it would cost me £212.  I told him he can keep it.  Another place will get me one for £80 + my own starter but they're not open on Saturday.

 

What other starters match a Fabia VRS?  Not many VRS fabia breaking over here so I need to have some alternatives.

 

Does the 6 speed starter out of a MK4 golf anniversary fit because I have one of those?  I think it's the FML gearbox on it.  6 speed petrol.

 

Any help would be good.

Ibizas and polos with the pd130s will fit i imagine.

Exactly.

Stick to DIESEL 6 speed 02M gearboxes, and you'll be fine, using the starter motor from it.  Golf GT TDI, Seat Leon/Ibiza FR, etc.
