Advice required for colour matching

Featured Replies

Hi,

Newbie here, I have ordered my first company car: a Superb 2.0 TDI DSG Elegence in Storm blue with ivory leather only to be told that the Storm Blue is currently not available.

My last 3 cars of varies makes were silver with black or dark grey interior, so I want to move away from these combinations.

Given the vast experience in the cimmunity here, what external colour would you suggest to compliment the ivory leather. I'd like to stay away from Black Metallic.

I also welcome the discussions on this site re the B sills colours and the carpets: very helpful!

Tks,

Marc

I have the ivory leather with the Brunello, which I think is nice.

Rosso Brunellp and ivory does look lovely… but only when clean!

This would have been my No.1 choice if only:

a/ I didn’t have to park it in a dusty yard during the week

b/ I could ‘get away’ with ivory leather… if you live in a suit / trousers then fine, if you wear jeans a lot however think again as once it’s grubby it looks awful IMO.

A general rule of thumb is any dark coloured pair will work well with an ivory interior, likewise if you choose light coloured paintwork go for the onyx interior, a contrast always works best IMO.

I dont understand this about jeans. I've heard it said before, but I've had my ivory leather for more than a year now, always wear jeans (other than shorts when its hot) and have had no problems at all. It looks as good today as it did the day I collected it from the dealer.

The dye in jeans can transfer onto the leather very easily (especially if the jeans are damp… it’s been raining)

I test drove a Rosso Brunello Combi with ivory leather that was a couple of months old and the leather was very grubby (and going blue - I assume from jeans?)

Well...I'll go to the foot of our stairs!

My previous Superb was Rosso Brunello and when clean (as mentioned) and when sun is shining it looks great, otherwise it looks dull, even brownish in some conditions. What really got to me was my in-laws called it "maroon"!! Just like their Austin Maxi in the 70's!

I now have a Petrol blue Superb and everyone says the colour is beautiful (even when a bit grubby!

Thanks everyone, I have been told now by the dealer, that Shark Blue is no longer available for the Superb.

I have Rosso Brunello and Ivory -  2.5 year old with 68k miles.  At 50k I had the leather cleaned, but one in 3 years is fine. I wear a suit in the week and jeans at the weekend and have no serious dirtying!

Amethyst with Ivory was my choice, never regretted it!

Yep, agreed. If I had a choice of colour, I'd shave gone for Amethyst and ivory. Looks brilliant :)
