You're right hardly the most considered response. I find it irritating that there is so much apple stuff "made for ipad / ipod" and very little for anything else, as if the entire population owns an ipad. I just bought an android tablet, trying to find a suitable generic case was challenging, yet my local Tesco had dozens of different cases and covers for apple stuff. I certainly dont want to start another diesel v petrol debate...

Part of it will be that there has been 4 iPads and most cases will fit all of them.

How many billions of android tablets are there? All with a slightly different form factor! It's much harder to chose which stock to select as there aren't many truly generic cases other than slip cases, but most of the population don't want that, they want snug book style cases!

One of Apple's biggest redeeming features IMO is consistency - you are buying into a known entity.

would that have anything to do with the patent wars where Apple prevent anyone else making a tablet which is a certain rectangular shape with rounded edges, forcing everyone else to make their tablets slightly different shapes ?

New iPhone? Yawn!

:)

Probably not, as even Samsung don't seem to be able to decide on a shape and stick to it!
