The Octavia mk III Scout?

Featured Replies

Don't be cynical!

You forget the suspension.

And the Haldex / 4WD.

And the metal under trays.

And the price increase: that will take ages to work out...

  • Uh oh! An Octaviaaaaaaargh to go with the Citi-Go-Go?

  • Don't want to send this too far off topic or one of the new mods will be along in a moment to slap my wrist...   But yes, I've had a deposit in since December 2012, deliveries start for RHD in Sprin

  • Yep, I've heard it is a nice engine, but like the 1.9 TDI its far behind the times and will go.   I just looked on vw.de and the Alltrack is sold with the 210hp 2.0 TSI. Put that in the Scout here a

And then there's figuring out the spec. !

Sarge.

Historically, I believe it was based on the Elegance spec and the regular 4x4 (which you can get now, so the suspension and Haldex work is already finished) on the SE.

Would be interesting to know if they will do it with metal (probably aluminium, not steel like the Alltrack/Allroad) undertray or just bundle the plastic rough road package in and call it a day.

Yes. Traditionally it is just a 4x4 with same suspension lift as 4x4 Elegance with rough terrain trays would have. There are few budget changes in O3 factory equipment however, so for example rough terrain pack covers much more of the undercarriage than it used to in O2FL but as you said it is now made of plastic.

Didn't O2FL Scout have weird tyre size as well, one that no maker (at least in 2010 when I checked last) manufactured all season tyres for?

Apologies Silver1011. I did a search and couldn't find that post before I posted again thinking it had not been posted before.

No need to apologise Johann, the more Scout threads the better, I can't wait to see the real thing!

I can however wait for the price.

We picked up our 12 month old, 8,000 mile ex-Skoda Milton Keynes Scout for £14K back in 2009.

Those days of seriously cheap Skoda's are over sadly.

Wow!

3 year old 30k FL Mk2 CR Scout = c.£13/14k at the moment.

I think they've always been 225/50 17 but you can now get a few all season options. 225/55 17 fits and extends the choice, although probably not the way you guys load the backs up.

Sadly the choice on 245/45 18 which I run is virtually nil so I'll be taking mine off my Scout to keep for the next one.  May even be a wise choice if they do uprate the brakes, although since the 17" Proteus wheels fit my A6 allroad I can't see it being a problem.  Only trouble is they don't fit in the spare "well".

245/40 19 will also fit although the ones that came with the allroad are ET42 and might just be a step too far on a Scout besides being a bit impractical and expensive.

I just hope Skoda spec "simple" unpolished wheels next time and I'll keep them for winter.
