2.0 Fabia, where?

Featured Replies

I keep hearing about this mythical beast called a 2.0 litre Fabia.

Never seen one though.

Where can I get one?

I need more performance in my life!

GTX3076R should be lovely xD

I used to own a 2.0 fabia ages ago, it was actually quite a good car but suffered with all the usual stuff that all fabia's get like power steering, console bushes, drop links, terrible handling etc.

Presumably, you mean a 2.0 litre petrol Fabia?

At this moment, there are 6 for sale on Autotrader across the UK......all Elegance spec too!

Decent one is yours for £3000

Skoda Fabia 2.0 Elegance

or theres a super leggy one for under £600 ;)

There was a "Sport" version to i think.

got the same black VRS style seats and red belts as the 1.4 Sport

Although Parkers seems to not think they exist.

I think the mythical ones that roams these pages had had a lot of work done - or perhaps that is the myth and the "mustang busting" nature of the story is all made up - i'm not entirely sure

I'm not even sure if Mil's threads will still show up it was that long ago

I'm after one myself for a 1.8t conversion. Can't find one I like though lol

You just need a mustang to use as bait to lure one out of hiding. Do you have one in the depths of your expansive garage by any chance?

I can only find them over £1k.

edit: Found it!  175k on the clock !!!

I wish I'd kept mine now, it was in my back garden for ages then I gave it away, I think my next project might be a fabia, the 2.0 model would be the obvious choice for a 1.8T conversion, but I guess any fabia will do really, I think I want to do something a bit out of the ordinary though, possibly an r32 lump.

They had so much power it twisted the chassis!

Sadly only a few survived after slaying mustangs and Ferraris

115BHP from a 2.0 8V, how on earth was that possible! lol

they are so rare because the 1.4 16V produced 100 BHP, so why go for an extra 0.6L for only 15BHP.

I know someone who plans on selling a 1.4 16V :P

I'm sure it's very nice... but no thanks. ;)

I had a 2.0l 8v mk2 Ibiza GTi that also made 115bhp, the 8v mk3 Golf GTI also made 115bhp was pretty standard VAG "back then"

I thought the 2.0 was only a 8V engine instead of a 16V? some people!

True but we're talking about a car which was released around the same time as the Mk4 Golf, surely Fuel injection systems and engine designs had improved from the Mk3 to the Mk4 era.

That's not the whole story though.....the 2.0 produces almost 50% more torque than the 1.4. So it does 0-60 nearly 2 seconds faster than the 100bhp 1.4

So much torque I fell asleep.

So much torque I fell asleep.

If you want to feel torque, you want to  take a 1.2 6V out for a spin :P

So much torque I fell asleep.

Lol, you say that.......but a 2.0 is the fastest non vRS by far. And in fact, very nearly as fast as a vRS at 0-60......surprisingly the vRS pips it by only 0.4 seconds.

A bit of a sleeper the old 2.0

We have a 2.0 elegance estate here on a "W" plate not very tidy and has a few issues , probly only going t use her as spares..

came in as a non runner after the customer had swapped his dash panel due to no speedo and had somehow killed his dash in the process so it wouldn't go. I repaired the dash and tried it down the road and it drove ok, no speedo and the ABS module has an eeprom fault (hence so speedo)

79K I believe on her and its orangy red lol.

It is the only one I have seen and has vrs front brakes and 15" wheels.

I had the same engine in an octavia estate and you had to work it hard to make it go but it was ok on fuel for what it was really.

Fastest non vRS out of the factory maybe ;)
