Fabia 1.4 mpi problem

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have a problem with my ten years old fabia 1.4 mpi. Yesterday, after I drove more than 1000 km on Sunday on bad roads (Czeck Republic) mostly on highways, the car started to make noise during acceleration from 30kmph to 70kmph (2nd-4th gear). The sound and feel is like I'm passing over small potholes (sounds like tk-tk-tk, 1-2 times per second).

When I'm not accelerating fastly, there is no any sound or feel.

What could that be?

Sorry because of my bad English.

Thanks in advance.

no any suggestion?

if the sound is present when the engine is running but not moving it could be low on oil. I'd do the usual service checks and if possible get under the car to see if you any kind of leaks.

If the noise is only present when your moving it could be a wheel bearing.

Thank you for your answer.

The noise is only present when i'm moving, but I don't think it is wheel bearing because there is no any sound and feel when I'm driving 100+kmph.

it sounds like the hydraulic lifters  ...  When is the last time you change oil?

have you checked your tyres you could have a stone or something stuck in the treads

tyres seem to be ok. oil was changed 9 months ago (and 8000 km ago) - I change it every year or every 10k-15k km

OK!   ...  May I ask which type of oil your using?

Just to let you know, I change the oil every 3-5K km because I don't use synthetic oil.
