Which Brodit ProClip for MK2 FL Octavia VRS?

Featured Replies

I'm trying to find a Brodit ProClip that wil enable me to locate my phone just to the left of my steering wheel so it's in easy reach and view for using the sat nav app. The 'centre mount' seems to fit the bill but I just can't seem to find one for right hand drive cars! They all seem to explicitly state that they are for LHD vehicles. Even from UK-based distributors.

For example: http://www.drivesafeandlegal.co.uk/brodit/vehicles/Skoda/Octavia+RS/2005-2013/853525.htm

Are people using the LHD clip on RHD vehicles without issue? I like the center mount because it doesn't obscure the air vent as much as the other mounts.

Also I would imagine the centre vents are the sane for LHD and rhd. I hot a centre mount from DSL developments and it fits fine.

Perfect! Precisely what I was after.

Yes please!

I'm interested in a brodit clip too.  Two questions:

1. If you have a case or rubber skin on your phone, does this have to be removed before slotting it into the brodit mount?

2. Does anyone have a pic of what a centre mount looks like, with phone in place?  Doesn't an iphone or s3 take up a large area of the vent and/or the bolero/columbus head unit?

Otherwise, monkeyalan would you mind posting a pic of how it looks once you've got it fitted?

cheers

There are a few threads on here with photos. Unable to locate the one I was thinking of but this gives some idea:

I'll take some of my own photos when done.

You can buy a mount for an iPhone with a skin or a mount for an iPhone without a skin. You can also get either active or passive variants. The active one charges the phone. All are pretty pricey!

yes, it would be interesting to see how yours looks against a bolero unit

1. The phone holders are very well made and always a tight fit. If you want to be able to use a case, you need to buy a holder made for phones with cases fitted. They make several different holders for iPhones with different size cases. Not sure about other phones.

2. The phone isn't in place because I used it to take the picture, but the phone itself is about twice as tall as the holder, maybe a bit less. I usually keep the vent closed but it's handy to be able to use the AC to cool the phone on a hot day when you're using navigation, music streaming over 3G, stereo bluetooth and running a 2 amp charger at the same time. :D

My car is LHD but I'm sure it would be exactly the same on a RHD car. I'm very happy with Brodit products and will continue to buy them for future phones and cars.

This is my Proclip in the centre of the dash, for a HTC one X phone.

Normally it is in a case, which has to be removed to fit in the holder.

I will post a photo of mine soon, have the proclip and Brodit holder for iPhone and its superbly made, sturdy, and no damage to the dash.

One of my favourite bit of kit.
