Loss of power.....

Featured Replies

Been out in the my vrs diesel today and I wasnt getting the kick at 2-2.5k I normal get.

It still pulls up to speed and revs but the kick isnt there.

I've had the hesitation which seems to be related to the EGR, could this be related to it aswell?

was done the other week when it went into limp mode and had no errors at all.

I spoke to my dad today who said why talking to the mechanic he uses that a passat showed the same symptoms, owner took it to mon motors in chippenham and they put a new turbo on. Didnt fix it, did something else which was 1k+, didnt fix it. The mechanic my dad uses put a new fuel filter in and bingo all the issues were gone. So i'm going to get the fuel filter changed and see if it helps

I don't know for sure if its the same thing, but my mk1 tdi had the very same problem that you have described. Mine turned out to be a faulty MAF sensor, which when unplugged caused the problem to go away. I certainly wouldn't be fitting a new turbo just yet.

The maf sensor is the one plugged into the air intake pipe just on the engine side of the air filter isnt it?

That's the one, unplug it and try again. Lights will pop up on dash though so don't get scared. If its still the same then scratch that off the list.

I lost power on my petrol vrs and it was MAF which vcds auto scan confirmed. Vcds is best 250 dollars you can spend. Now using it to do lots of things now warranty run out. Not saying definite yours MAF. I also replaced the PCV
