Insurance for 18 yr old

Featured Replies

My teenage son is about to take his test, and is also about to inherit an '02 1.4 Fiesta, which I want to insure for him to use. I'll try the site sponsors, though I don't expect that he fits their specialist profile, I'd be grateful for any recommendations, or advice on what we can do to keep it to a minimum.

Thanks.

Try co-op, they do the insurance with the box in the car which monitors the driving. Can be restrictive but it builds up a ncd for a young diver. My son went with this last year when he was 17 and just passed, 1800 for the first year but over the period he was credited back just over 300 for good driving. One year later and he's now with Admiral, 570 for the year.

Admiral do a cool little thing, they allow the main driver to be insured for 10 months, bringing the overall premium down and you get 1 years no claims after that 10 months, this is allowed for up to 5 years.

The first year of insurance is always going to be into the thousands for that age but after that first year you will see a large drop if there are no problems

Hi,

sorry but it isn't one for us I'm afraid.  We very much prefer modified, performance and imported cars.

Thanks
