I've replaced my DPF Differential Pressure Sensor but.....

Featured Replies

I was a bit dubious of this!

Thanks for the reply.

Yes it's made in Malaysia part no 076906051A

What exactly is the issue with these sensors? I have this one fitted on my pd 170 vrs and it regens a lot.

Just looking through old receipts the last owner gave me there is a one here for an investigation for flashing glow plug/dpf/eml light on dash. Found no2 pressure sensor defective apparently. So is the one in the picture no1 or 2? That's in the engine bay at the back of the engine. The receipt says had to put fuel in due to being less than 1/4 full to carry out forced regen. Doesn't mention about adapting new sensor. Could this be the reason behind all my dpf regen woes i wonder? Took the car for a 15 mile run yesterday after 6 fairly short journeys and it was regening when i got back home!! Wtf!!

I have one of these sensors due to be delivered today, but not for my Skoda, for a VW T5 van (it's the same sensor).

EML is on and fault is implausible signal intermittently. Apparently according to VW service manual it shouldn't need adapting, the procedure for replacing it doesn't mention any adaptation etc. Just plug & play.

I'm going to swap it over and see what happens.

Apparently it only needs adapting if you change the DPF, to tell it that it's now empty.

I could have bad info but I'm going to give it a shot. Then run it to the local specialist if there's any problems.

I have managed to get a lend of a vcds laptop from a friend.

Sensor is arriving tomorrow so did a an auto scan with vcds to confirm no other faults.

I'm a little confused and concerned with adapting the sensor as I have gone into the engine module and LOGIN is called CODING 2 and is grayed out. How can I adapt the sensor without this option?

I have a 2010 1.6l R4 CR tdh

Just doing a quick bit of reading and it seems my car is connecting via UDS protocol. The procedure in this thread doesn't seem to work with this protocol.

The ross tech website suggests this:

UDS Protocol (G450) procedure

Key ON, Engine OFF

[basic Settings]

Select Adaptation of diff. pressure sensor particulate filter

[Go!] to activate the Basic Setting.

After the result of Finished Correctly appears click [stop]

Select Resetting of learned values of difference pressure sensor

[Go!] to activate the Basic Setting.

After the result of Finished Correctly appears click [stop]

[Done, Go Back]

Anybody any experience of this?

Looking in VCDS it looks like I have an option for "Adaptation of diff. pressure sensor particulate filter" but not for "Resetting of learned values of difference pressure sensor"

So confused! [emoji30]

Hey Lambie - up in Carrickfergus here - did you ever get the adaptation sorted for the pressure sensor?

Audi A4 2010 3.0ltr TDI. UDS system - so Coding II is disabled.

I'm the opposite of you though: I am missing "Adaptation of diff. pressure sensor particulate filter" but yet have "Resetting of learned values of difference pressure sensor".

Does anyone know how to get the "Adaptation of diff. pressure sensor particulate filter" to appear?

I was having problems with the EML coming on intermittently and David8 from this forum kindly came and perfoemed a VCDS diagnostic which pointed to an "implausible siganal" fromthe DPF pressure sensor.

I ordered a sensor (£54.00 inc VAT delivered from Audi Parts Direct in Cardiff) and fitted it and another Briskodian came over and performed the necessary reset as per the quoted post above. It all went as per the instructions given.

The following morning I went for a 30 mile run but it didn't seem to get the car to regen (I suspected it hadn't been able to regen for several months as I'd gone from doing 30K miles a year to doing 1500 miles of short runs in the last 6 months).

The following day I did a 400 mile round trip  and the DPF light came on once in each direction.

The fuel economy on the car's computer was showing 52.9mpg (cruise con @ 74mph) but the actual consumption calculated was 31MPG (brim to brim calculation).

I can only surmise that the car was pouring fuel into the DPF to burn off several months of build up but that consumption is not recorded as used by the engine therefore the fuel gauge and range drop in accordance with total fuel used but the MPG is only calculated based upon fuel injected into the cylinders and not into the DPF.

The following day the borrowed VCDS revealed a total soot mass of 3.22g so it appears the regen was successful.

Although I've worked on cars for over 30 years I'm a bit of newbie to the techie stuff but there are some really helpful people out there to whom I am extremely grateful.

Incidentally, the local Skoda dealer wanted £96.00 inc VAt just to hook up the car and read the codes.

Hi all,

Not sure if this is the correct thread or not to post on or not, so apologies in advance.

I'm having a DPF nightmare at the moment with my 58 plate CR VRS Octavia, any help will be much appreciated.

The following occurred:

1.) Coil light came on intermittently, no sign of any problems.

2.) Coil light stayed on, no problems.

3.) Distinct lack of power, probably no turbo.

4.) Take it to a local garage, who replace the turbo actuator.

5.) DPF light, EML and coil light now on.

6.) Garage say DPF needs to be changed or cleaned, as it's too full for regen.

7.) Garage clean DPF, does nothing.

8.) Garage check EGR, no problems found.

9.) Garage take off entire DPF, same problem!

10.) Garage, who have great policy and don't charge me for things that didn't fix the car, don't want to help anymore. They spent 12 man hours altogether on trying to fix it. They recommend going to get diagnostics at a main dealer.

11.) Go to dealer. They tell me I need a new DPF and want to charge me £2200!!!!

Now, from the above, I can't see how this is the DPF. To me it seems like a sensor problem, but I'm not sure witch.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

L.

Was pigs tail/glow pug light flashing?

Just have dealer do it. Took white dove Cardiff two days on my then 29 k limited edition VRS with the CR engine to try and adapt it to the car. Until I kicked up a fuss and they had Škoda uk send them an adaptions code.

Hi all, I changed my engine in my 2014 vrs cupa 2.0 tdi. I got the engine out of a 2017 car same engine code but the new dpf has a extra pressure sensor. How do I get this to work in my car

Sounds like you also need the wiring loom from the new engine with the connector for the pressure sensor....?

Alternatively, you can get the wiring diagram from Seat and see where it needs connecting.
