I've taken off the octavia lettering on the boot but I'm left with a faint outline of where the letters used to be, but I've I've removed all the backing that was sticking them on? Any help appreciated

I did mine yesterday and just used some Meguiars step 1 paint cleaner which worked a treat hope this helps

I've used sticky stuff removal gel to get off what was left after I took the letters off, then I used meguiares ultimate compound a few times, then step 2 polish but it's still there, now I'm trying to cut, I can't feel any raised bits left on the surface, it's like it taken some of the paint off with the backing
