Audi question...

Featured Replies

Anybody help on this one? My old dear has an Audi A6 4.2 quattro with sat nav, and the sat nav has a function built in to warn you about speeding - every time you go over 60, you get a loud beep and a symbol saying "MPH2" in the multifunction display. Now, conscientious as this is in town and on national speed limit roads, it's a pain in the **** having a car tell you off every time you go above 60 on the motorway! Especially if traffic is moving at around the 60mph mark, as this warning alarm sounds every time you drop below then exceed 60mph! The manual is brief and vague about the function of this warning, and gives no clue as to how to disable it. Anybody know how to do it? Sensible suggestions only please, I know a claw hammer would do the job but I don't think the sat nav would be much use afterwards... :D

I had it on my A4.It didnt have sat nav, just the audi version of maxi dot.

Can be set to whatever speed you want to warn you.As to disabling,I remember something about pressing and holding one of the stalks but can't remember which and for how long or even if that is correct :o

I'm sure kenny will know being the proud owner of a an A4.I am presuming they all come with it.

Otherwise its a get the manual out job.Sos! :)

ill need to check it out for you mate. i dont think its ur sat nav. Like Laurence said its a function of the maxidot display(on board DIS)

i have set it by mistake but have managed to reset it. i think it is activated by the "check button" while driving. ill try and find out how to deactivate it for you :)

there are 2 speed settings on my A4, one resets itself when the ignition is turned off the other can be reset while the car is moving by pressing and holding the check button:)

hope this helps

Not my car before I ask the stupid question... where / what's the check button???

On the underside of the wiper stalk.

Pressing it will turn it off, as will holding it a zero MPH iirc.

Goign to sound even dumber now, won't that just reset MPG/Avg speed/whatever the multifunction display is showing?

Yes, so switch the MFD until it displays the MPH logo and hold it in then.
