DNA Tuning Remap - Stage 1

Recommended Posts

Had a look on the search and couldn't find too much on this.

I'm getting tempted into a remap for my Mk2 vRS and my local VAG specialists use the DNA Remapping. Details below:

Stage 1 gives:

+49bhp

+80nM Torque

Price:

£299 + VAT (can get this cheaper as local VAG specialists have offered discount)

Just wondering if anyone has got one on their motor or knows anyone that has and can give any comments on them? If anyone's got any dyno graphs as well, that would be awesome

I have had a stage 1 on my mk1 for five years now, was the generic one. If you can I would recommend getting the custom or at least make sure the mapper does testing before and after on rolling road.

What do you mean by 'custom'? I've had a chat with them about the testing, so confident that will all be done properly.

What did you think of your remap though, has it been worth it? Good performance increase?

I've had stage 1 on my Mk1 vRS which gave good numbers

I've had stage 1, 2, 2+ and now K04 conversion stage 3 on the Mk2. Stage 1 is a very nice map, nice smooth acceleration and quite an improvement on stock. Highly recommended.

Sounds good, what sort of gains did you get from the stage 1 on mk2?

I never had it dyno'd but it felt good. My mate had his A4 DTM done at the same time, he was also very please.

a generic stage1 is a map that does not take account of the individual engine, it is a generalised map that should work on any 1.8T

a custom map is where the mapper can tweak the base map whilst on the rolling road to get the best out of it.

a generic stage one today though is better than a few years ago as the mappers are learning more about the engines and how to get the best from them.

my remap was like night and day, also made it more economical when driven normally so was a win win..

I had my stage 1 mk2 dyno tested after I had the uprated hpfp internals fitted. Ran 245 bhp (+48 bhp) on the rollers. A friend had a DNA remap on his PD130 A4 and was very happy. I like my APR Mao but they are a little more expensive.
