starting problems....fuel.

Featured Replies

I own a fabia..... a skoda fabia 2004 1.4 16 valves it runs on petrol... and some times when ive parked facing up hill mainly but also on flat come to start it an it just turns over. After turning over for 10 15 seconds nothing...can smell fuel out the exhaust so got fuel there. When I put petrol In the car the handle on pump clicks like its full when its not its empty and I also have two fault codes one was the coolant temp sensor other was something todo with charcoal canister. Any ideas??? It does start up after few attempts starting off really low idle likd 500rpm then picks up.

Both those faults can cause starting problems, I would suggest fitting a new charcoal canister and temp sensor.

It's more likely to be the purge valve than the canister itself but you should absolutely change the temperature sensor ASAP since that's certainly the cause of the flooding.
