aircon saga today!

Featured Replies

well after buying car and not having any aircon thought i would take it to quick fit for a recharge, after being in there an hour or so they then told me i had a leak in the system and therfore wouldnt charge me, Never thought anything of it until i was driving home and the aircon was making a funny noise like i leaking gas noise, so went by a local garage (star performance) as new they were aircon people they had a look and said the reason it was making the noise was the fact it wasnt correctly filled, so they took it away and serviced the aircon, and refilled it and its working a treat and they couldnt detect a leak and they used uv dye morol of the storey never trust quick fit! ON a brighter note whilst this was being done just got a remap on the car at the same time good to say was the dearest aircon recharge in the world but the car goes better and is cold again!!

If a leak is suspected, the F-Gas regs prohibit fully recharging the system.

There are a few places where you can't see a leak of UV dye, so fingers crossed.
