4 Wheel Alignment Octavia FL Vrs......

Featured Replies

I've search, but cannot find the settings that are needed for a 4 Wheel Alignment.

Ambrosia's in next week and I was wondering which setting are used so I can compare them with the figures being used next week.

Is everything set absolutely  square or do the wheels toe in/out are the front's set same as the rears?

Thanks.

Are you going to  ABC, they have the correct settings

No, my local tyre place has just had some new laser equipment fitted, not sure on the make though

If their half as good as there tyre services they'll be good, they can beat most online tyre places.

the price you pay for tyres online is only slightly less for what they supply/balance, fit and dispose

Is ABC (in Leeds?) 'THE' place to get your alignment done in the area? Need mine doing after fitting my coilovers...

Oh, and whats a ballpark figure I should be paying for alignment?

I paid £50 at my local tyre and that was for 4 wheel laser alignment.....

Abc use a hunters rig and the best in the area. They go for a test drive as well and alter to how you like it. £70

I'll give them a bell tomorrow then and see if I can get it booked in for Thursday. Guessing the amount of camber I'm running at the moment isn't doing my handling any favours!

Do a search for one of my posts as I wrote my settings out for my 2010 FL VRs which was done at the Audi dealer on behalf of Skoda UK.

It Ok going for a test drive  to see how you like it but if it's not set up right, but you like it that way it's going to eat tyres

They go on a road one each side has a different camber . If it is sett bang on neatral it will pull to one side . They go down each side to show that the road camber makes a dkfference . One is like Britain ie to the left and the other the right. Some like it a fraction off to compensate for the camber

The alignment places I have used/spoken to have had an online connection to the equipment makers database (or said they did), from which they could extract the required info.

If you go away from manufactures spec, then surely you have to accept you are on your own?  Like the wide wheel/ lower ride height thing.  The suspension/steering is designed to work optimally at the designated settings.  You can change one aspect but really you are just distorting the envelope, not enlarging it.

If you take your car to the dealers and they say " Your car is fine, it's within Skoda tolerances "

Skoda's tolerances can be as wide as A to Z. The settings can be way out front to back, left to right but there within tolerances.

At least when you get it done by someone else the settings left to right etc should be the same

Does that make sense
