3. BMW 1series coupe , new

4. Mercedes c class coupe new.

5. Octavia vrs mk3 diesel new

Did think of the yeti but I really would like a "premium" marque , this golf I've got is brilliant but I fell in love with the xj on a drive down to Cardiff , it was like sitting in a very comfy armchair watching the world woooooosh passed

it's your money, but the  Yeti Elegance is a lot of car for the money. Heated (optional) electric seats with memory function, leather, lumbar support, back seats fully removeable etc etc.

 

Pfffft, badge snobs eh

Get the Jaguar.

fordy that's the way its looking at the moment I can get a decent one for less than £25k (used) with 30k on the clock or £30k with less than £10k on the clock so its a no brainer really

I'd go for number 1! This is what I think of them.

1-a good choice and most presence on the road

2-another good choice but blends in a bit

3-looks horrible and like you can't afford a 3 series

4-really don't like em.

5-nice car but as number 2 blends in now.

I looked at a new octy 3 today and it looks pretty premium!

I'd get the jag. I assume you mean the latest one (as used in the last bond film)

The new Golf GT TDi with high performance and tree hugging emissions, also the standard spec is rather loaded especially for VW.

Personally I'd go for the jag, more exclusive and looks better but both good choices!

If it going to a Jaguar then it has to be the XF,  the XJ looks a bit too Blimpy in the rear end to me .

The BMW 1 series looks a bit out of place on your list, it is much smaller than the other cars. What about a 5 series, more evenly matched with the XJ.

I was seriously considering Jag X-Type or Volvo diesels as an alternative to the Octavia.

I very nearly coughed up for a an S80 2.4 D5, fully loaded with heated and ventilated/cooled seats, with 3 suspension modes.  Very capable and comfy, and satisfying different from the proliferation of Jags, BMWs, and Audi's......
