Enable parking lights with drl's?

Featured Replies

Is it possible to turn on the parking lights so that they always are on? Even in auto in sunlight when only the drl's are on.

Turn the lighting switch one position clockwise.

Or.

Press the indicator stalk to give lights on just the side indicated.

i think the OP means side-lights aswell as DRL's.

Apart from leaving switch on side-lights (you will get the rears but loose the DRL) then no. I don't think so.

You would be better off using VCDS to turn on the rear lights to come on with the DRL's.

When I drive my car in daylight there is only two lamps on and that is the two lights next to the foglights, is that the drl's??? If so I still want those two lamps to be on and I also want the 5W parking lights next to the xenon lights to be turned on. Is it possible to set the 5W parking lights to always be on by using VCDS?

I don't think so.

Having the W5W side/parking lights on at the same time as the DRL's will make even more people incorrectly think your DRL's are in fact fog lights.

I live in Sweden and here we are allowed to have parking and fog lights on at the same time during daytime.

You would be better off using VCDS to turn on the rear lights to come on with the DRL's.

When I last experimented with Byte 18 on my Superb, this was not possible.

It is not (yet) possible with VCDS. However, your dealer can do it with his equipment (as he has done to my S2). More info is in this (German) post.
