Service Interval Setting and Oil Temp display in MFD...

Featured Replies

I'm sure I've seen the answer to this question on here previously but couldn't find it!!

When I picked up my Blackline last November, the garage had incorrectly set the service interval to variable servicing. I took it back in to them and they quickly amended it to fixed service intervals (I think).

Ever since then, the MFD won't display the Oil Temp - always stays as --- no matter ow hot the engine is. I believe this is something to do with what service interval setting the car is on.

Can someone advise what fixed service interval setting it should be set to (as far as I know it should have been yearly or 10k miles) that also allows the MFD to display the Oil temp?

I've lived with it for the past 10 months as I couldn't be @rsed with another trip back to the dealer but as its due for its first "free" service in November I might aswell try and get it corrected!!

Any ideas anyone?

I assume you have Maxi Dot, if so a Box needs ticking in one of the sections

You can have the option to show/not show certain things

I think

I do have maxi dot and oil temp is ticked. The problem is that it never registers an actual temp, always just shows as --- I believe this is something to do with the service interval setting ?

Same here on a 2012 vRS TDI, dealers are stumped, had a new instrument cluster last week SUK have all the codes and dealers computer readings and are looking into it.

Only mentioned this on another thread and apparently it is a known fault?

I'm on variable service.

Regards

People have mentioned that if the car is set to fixed servicing then the oil temp facility doesn't work. Mine is on fixed service and the oil temp does work after it's reached a certain temp - I never use it though.

Had the same issue with my last Octavia. When it is switched from variable to fixed the oil temp is disabled by default even though it still appears as an option in the maxidot.

The dealer can re-enable the oil temp while still keeping service on fixed.
