Does the 03 Fabia Elegance have a fitted CD player? I've found a Fabia that I really like but from the pics I can't tell if it has a CD player or if it's tapes. I know this is a trivial thing but I spend a lot of miles driving and frankly a CD player is a must for me.

 

It's a 1.4 petrol estate. What are they like? Slow, quick? How much is the tax? Insurance?

 

(I really want a Octi estate but they're like hen's teeth around here! Last one I saw for sale had 225k on the clock!)

Not all do. My old x reg elegance came with a tape player. But both mine and my friends came with cd players

You could always just find a standard one and buy it afterwards if necessary?

Hard to say, most higher spec are all CD player but some of the highest spec ones had casset, I don't know why.

£50 would secure you the factory CD player anyway so budget that when buying it.

I'd have thought an Elegance would always have a CD player. But it's not guaranteed. 

As said. CD players, oem/aftermarket are relatively cheap. I wouldn't let it be a deal breaker

My 53 plate elegance has a cassette player. I bought one of those adaptors from Poundland and use that connected to my phone or MP3 player.

The tapes with a lead? They are one of the mysteries of the world, how the hell do they work.

That will have a 1.4 16v engine and is not the quickest unless you use the top end of the rev range and drive it enthusiastically through the gears, using the top end of the gears will give good power but poor economy, use the lower revs and get better economy, that's just the characteristics of that engine.

Thank you! I bought it today. Really strange- it has electric everything, heated seats/mirrors, and a tape player. It's a bit slow pulling away, but I'm not sure if that's me or the car. (I'm used to a Megane that went like stink.) It mimics a cd changer so you can connect any MP3 player to your radio.

Elegance cars are generally heavier due to all the options however ive got the 1.4 16v 100bhp engine and at low rev's its economical and at high it pulls really well

Thank you! Decided it was a combination of low petrol and me yesterday. (I knew I didn't quite have the seat in the sweet spot. Having short legs doesn't help!) 

 

I'm really enjoying it.  

I know it costs more but try and keep with the super unleaded / diesel as it works wonders on your engine!
