Filler cap cover

Featured Replies

On my 2002 Fabia 1.4 16v, i can`t get the filler cap cover to lock again. I went to the petrol station, unlocked the flap from inside the car, and when i tried to lock it, it wouldn`t.

Has anyone had the same problem, if so please let me know how to fix it.

Inside the boot near the filler cap cover is a cable, peel back the boot lining (it won't break) and check thats in ok and also check that the physical cover will click and hasnt come stiff.

I have the same problem, if the suggestion re the cable doesnt fix it does anyone have any idea other than an expensive trip to the garage?

If you don't mind using finger tips to pull the cover open, then just remove the cable and the cover will clip into place and stay there. Mine's been like that for two years. OK so no security, but how could any fuel thief guess that your cover isn't locked?
