Turbo Codes?

Featured Replies

Hi

I have been ringing round to try to get prices for a turbo for my VRS Fabia.

Every one I have spoken to has said the Garrett dont do a turbo compatible with the Fabia VRS?

I am obviously asking the wrong questions.

Is there a part number for this turbo? in 130 and 150?

Cheers in advance.

Worth noting darkside prices on the site are +vat. . .so the pd 160 is 780£ all in.

Out of curiosity, how is a pd160 less 'laggy than a pd150?

Aparantly the turbo has a tappered shaft which helps it spool slightly quicker than the PD150.

Is it really that noticable though? A hybrid pd150 should be ok though I'm guessing.

Haven't really driven it hard enough yet to notice the lag, ideally you would need a rr printout. yer a hybrid pd150 is what I wanted to get but turbodynamics wanted over £1k

Officially they don't.

All mk1 Fabia VRS's had KKK units.

The Garrett units were fitted to the PD130 Golf (and maybe the Polo GT) which meant the inlet or outlet (i always forget which) pointed in the wrong direction to be a direct fit on the Fabia.

However due to the way the Garrett unit is constructed it is possible to "clock" the turbo by undoing the bolts holding the housing together and rotating it until the inlet/oulet points in the correct direction.

The same applies to the Garrett PD150/160 units (standard or hybridised) which will all need to be clocked to fit

Yes darkside where kind enough to clock it for me free of charge.

They chucked in 15 minutes work for free after you spent almost £830 with them? How kind :D
