Blue vrs pics/ modifications

Featured Replies

I've caught the bug and wanting to do a few modifications to my race blue vrs. Needs to be practical as I have a 2 1/2 year old. But thinking first thing is a light back window tint and doing the grill black. Going to get it re Mapped and dpf delete at some stage. I'd also love a set of bbs ch replicas in gunmetal but one step at a time! Anyone any pics of their blue vrs so I can get a few ideas of what I like etc?! I'm completely new to all this! :-)

IMHO the grill should should be colour coded to the colour of the car .

I wrapped my door trim piano black and sprayed the rest of the interior trim which can be removed piano black .

Just a couple of ideas

Happy modding

There are a good few pics about the forum of race blue MkII's with the colour coded grill surround, I really like it the same colour. Suspension down a bit is meant to be a total transformation to handling of the car, depending where exactly you are this may not be an option (isn't an option in my neck of the woods due to crap roads). The standard mud flaps if you haven't got them are not a bad call, won't stop half the mud but might save you from some stone chips on a tar&chippings surface (a car without any in NI looks odd lol). If you have the non touch screen radio a Bolero (inbuilt 6 disc changer touch screen) or Columbus RNS510 (touch screen sat nav & DVD) are great options.

If you change your mind about the grill surround colour, I got mine colour coded by DA Stewart in Moneydig and would highly recommend them!

I have posted a few pics of mine.

I'm also thinking about tints on mine and also getting my wheels done smoked as well

Thanks for the ideas :-) I do really like the colour coded grill too! It is definitely still an option! Your pic looks great!! Could be swayed towards colour coded instead of black! I got some front mud flaps fitted the other week there although cant find ones for back that fit the vrs? I got a pretty bad stone chip along sill and had a mild panic attack last week when noticed it started rusting!! :-0 got the other half to touch it up in mean time but I need back bumper painted at some stage as its had a crap paint job before I got it! So will get them to do sills while there! Expense!!!

Hopefully fingers crossed my missus gets me tinted windows for my birthday this month....:D Cannot wait.....

I think the rear mudflaps for the normal octavia fit the Vrs too just requires some adjusting. I prefer the Blue grille surround to the black. On certain colours like rally green and white a black grille works quite well.

Black and green go well together. The green vrs has tints too but not shown in pic as it was taken before it got tinted lol.

Here's a picture of mine from a while ago, got the Neptune alloys refurbished in gunmetal with a satin finish.

Since then I have fitted some black rally flaps. I know they are a bit like Marmite, people hate them or love them. I think it looks better than having them colour coded to your car (in my case blue flaps). To me they serve a more practical purpose of keeping the worse of the mud off and more importantly protecting the bottom of the doors and rear bummer from stone chips.

Anybody got a picture of a blue vRS with a black grill?

Enough...?! :D

Thanks!  Going to Plastidip my grill matt black I think, and get the wheels refurbished in black too, probably satin.

on the pic above (GY06 XVB) how do you get the bonnet open as there is no space for the wee lifter handle thing to poke out through the grille?

If you look closely, there is a gap cut out of the grill for the bonnet release handle to pop out of.
