Fabia power/ lumpy idle.

Featured Replies

Hi

I've noticed that the fabia is slightly lumpy on idle. Any ideas ?

I don't know when and what it had on last service.

Only had it 3 weeks.

Is there anything I can do to make it pick up a bit better. Doesn't seem much pickup power in 3rd?

Thanks.

Hmmmm sounds similar to the symptoms I have with my PD105 Roomster. Currently at Shark Performance awaiting diagnosis, but suspect it is injector related.....

No it's no where as near as bad as that.

It's almost like it missing every fourth beat if that makes sense.

What's the best way to squeeze a bit more power out of it.

I know it's only a 14 mpi. But would like a bit more.

And No i can't afford a vrs lol

does it rattle. the timing chain on these engines can slip a tooth causing them to loosing timing and then run rough with no power.. a likely cause if the engine is more than 100k and there is no record of it being changed. hope this helps.

Lumpy idle is caused by the tick over being very low on purpose to meet emission regs at the time, is it an mpi I take it? Mine does it aswell, power will never be an option with these old pushrods engines. Change the oil and make sure it can breath ok.
