turbo problem

Featured Replies

hi all

my 57 1'9 octy has had the police siren turbo since i bought it at 92k , i just ignored it really as i was told some are just noisy and its now done 140k but has started with the limp mode and turbo overboost message etc.

ive tried turbo cleaner and its ok for a while but just re occurs so looks like its replace turbo time.

i dont really wanna go to the expense of new  and its probably pointless fitting a used 1 (correct me if i'm wrong) so i'm thinking recon.

i read somewhere that this might not be possible, mine being a bxe, can anyone enlighten me please?

also, the best place to obtain such an animal, i see from the tinternet that gap turbos seem to be reasonable or turbo scotland? but are they any good?

has any 1 used them?.

would really appreciate some help.

many thanks

Mines a BXE engine and you can get new or recon turbos for them no problem.

You can have you turbo removed (2 hrs labour), sent for refurbishment and then it re-fitted (3 hrs labour). Cost around £ 700 for an indy to do this as oil/filter change also needed but you will be without a car for the week.
