Dealer said "noooooo" "COUGH!"

:(

Told me they had the wiring schematics I needed but they were "dealer only" and couldn't release them. Then I asked, "well, would you do the work for me?" - answer came back a little vague with mumblings of warranty and "call Monday"....

SOOOOO, do I trailer the car to my dealer for them to join up these six wires together... Just six damned little wires. Or what?

Oh, and on another sour note... guess what - It looks like my offside outer hub housing is also totalled, as using the vRS subframe & console, the nearside now has PERFECT camber, but the offside is still well badly cambered! :thumbdwn: Another

Why don't you take some pics of the damaged areas of wiring and give us a bit more info and then perhaps we could check a VRS for you.

They can supply you the wiring diagrams, in fact im pretty sure due to block exemption its illegal for them not to. No limit however on how much they charge for them.

We still havent got binder 10 from Skoda that covers Fabia vRS believe it or not.

Thanks Lummox. I'll mention that binder. At least I could find out.

I mean ultimately, if they possess both diagrams I can't see them taking more than 20 minutes to chop and crimp together six wires. :o There's gonna be a mini break from the car while the bodywork goes on.... I do believe that LITERALLY, these six wires being joined together is whats stopping the whole thing kicking off...

Pretty much all geometry, alignment and mechanical issues are sorted. Oh, and guess what I've done to the bumper bar around the FMIC. ;)

Just had one of my hub housings changed due to 'distortion'. Dealer ended up doing this free of charge as they'd failed to cure a persistent wheel bearing rumble. Strangely, although all 4 wheels show the usual kerb damage, there's nothing to suggest any major impact has taken place - perhaps there's a weakness in the hub assembly?

Had they changed the bearing teedeeye?

Yes, this effectively concludes one of my previous threads. First they changed the O/S front, then the N/S - sent me away with the car but still the noise. They said the bearings HAD been shot, but that the noise was now down to a buckled wheel. Wheel was fine (I had it checked) so took it back. Turned out to be the 'distorted hub'! Anyway it's all fixed now and as I said, the later work was done free of charge (as they'd also stuffed up an inspection service)!

Sorry if I've inadvertantly changed the direction of this thread!

It was more likely that the hub was distorted when the bearing was changed. But if its sorted now and they coughed up anyhow its all good.

I found this interesting DTI Fact Sheet about Block Exemption.

which parts of the wiring diagram do you require?
