What have I done!

Featured Replies

So I came home yesterday after popping over to Wales to get some more car parts :giggle: and I came home to my missus on Autotrader. No problem there as we both hate her car and have discussed getting rid and replacing with something better.

What I didn't expect next was the list the length of my arm of modifications she wants to carry out! WTF!?!? What's worse, I have to bloody do it all! I didn't sign up to this! Yes I know my missus is far from a "girly girl" that's one of the many reasons why I like her, but that was meant to mean she didn't want to go shopping every Sunday after I get back from football, or that she will come snowboarding with me, but not this, this is my domain!

So I was wondering if anyone else has seen a new side to their missus (or fella :P) following your exploits?!?

YES! I blamed Korban at first as the wife had seen his car, she liked the wheels and a few other bits, so after looking for wheels, even asking Korban for his I found her with her nose in autotrader looking at MK V VW Golf.

She sent me a link to a nice blue one she had found..... R32, all the bells and whistles, not bought one yet but it is looking like we will in the new year, just got be mindful of year of registration as tax can be a massive amount.

Other than this she does't really like driving and cars she just wants a "nice" one.

Awesome, it's not just mine then! Thankfully she has gone off the idea of an S3 after being taken for a blip with grr666, but I know how much this modding lark costs and I am scared

Am I the luckiest guy in the world or what? My dearest is very happy with her car, therefore all I have to do is keep it rolling!

Perhaps she can come over and collect your wheels? :p

Thankfully she has gone off the idea of an S3 after being taken for a blip with grr666,

Hey! What's that supposed to mean, careful Jay or I'll offer her a drive of it.

Crap have I still not collected them yet?!?

I say thankfully as it would have meant selling both of our cars to fund it and I would have to fight her to drive it :D Hmmmm that's your call, perhaps you should gauge her skills first :giggle:

You never said, what car has tickled her fancy?

Golf GTI?

And on topic,

Mrs G couldn't give a to55 about cars, modding or any of the above.

She does like (me) to keep hers clean and I take responsibility for keeping

it in good repair and a serviceable state, but that's about it.

I still live in hope that I can talk her into the driving seat of an Arbarth

next time. As much as I enjoy bumbling about in her 500, being bright

yellow and having daisies on the dashboard always makes me feel a

bit 'Graham Norton' when I'm in it. Even if it is a fun drive on the country roads.

Ideally one of those dolphin grey looking Arbarths with red accents

would suit me (I mean her...) best. :) But I would keep it standard,

I don't think they need a thing doing to them and look great as they are.

Nope, a Ford Fiesta Zetec S ...... if she had her way we would have been driving up to Ayrshire last night!

Have I honestly not picked those winters up?!?

Can you see them in your garage?

My moneys on no, as I can see them in my shed.

That is unless they are inter dimensional winter wheels

and are occupying two spaces at the same time.

Nope but I have stuff in storage and thought I had put them there! I'll get over sharpish dude, sorry!

D'oh!

Ta mate, I want to get my Monstro-Barbeque into the shed so I can use its

little storage house as a log store, then I can get a big old order of logs in ready for

winter. I'd appreciate a hand moving things around a bit so I can get it in the shed actually.

I'm still not supposed to overdo it for a week or too.

Of course mate, will bell you after work dude

What the hell is a Monstro BBQ?!? Better not be gas :P

It's just very big that's all. Last time I rolled that badboy out I cooked and catered for a

party of 36 guests at my house.

Well that's ok then... a gas "bbq" is just a glorified, outdoor cooker!

I agree, if it ain't charcoal, then it ain't a BBQ.

Mine takes 4 whole sacks of it to fill it up to 3 inch depth.

You could literally cook a whole pig on it.

That's why me and Tegs have a small table top one for when it's just us two.

Sounds perfect.... I look forward to an invite next time ;)

your in the same shoes as my partner, when i want something doing, i.e coilovers on the Octavia it was his job, with a lot of shouting and swearing later it was done.

This is one of main reasons i bought the i10, new car, no worries! But now im taking up the slack and bought a 10 year old Clio 172 :D

My bird also competes at the same motorsports I do so I have to keep the car in tip top condition to make sure it can take double the abuse. I also have to make sure she doesn't beat me otherwise it makes for a very quiet drive home.

However, team orders have come into play once or twice and she's never really benefited from them :D
