Yeti's Day out at the county show.

Featured Replies

Hi just thought i'd post a couple of pictures of what we got up to at the Dorchester County Show.

Wessex 4x4 Response, who I am a member of, wanted something that wasn't a Landrover or a some other mud plugger on the stand.

The reason being to explain to anyone considering joining the ranks of volunteers that you didn't need one of the above to be of use when the weather turns nasty etc.

Apart from assisting around the site with lost children etc, we also help the police with rolling road blocks when the Horse and Carriage parade sets off from the showground and has a trip around the countryside.

There as a lot of interest in the Yeti, mostly from people thinking of buying one, so I became a surrogate Skoda salesman for the day.

1 eagle eyed current Yeti owner even spotted the 16" rims and said he wished he had that option!

All in all a good day, thinking of getting a bit of sponsorship for next year on the back of providing sales literature....

Nice bit of work!

I wish we in Wales were a bit more pro-active in this sort of event.

We have very good relations with the Dorset Police, and often get deployed to police stations when the snow is bad to provide transport, as well as other tasks related to ferrying people from A to B.

I know how much your Team do from their entries in the 4x4 Response Forum, which I think is great.

I just think it is a shame that our lot seem to do nothing now, other than arranging bloody expensive off-road instruction weekends at a Centre that use routes that are not suitable for Yeti's! I had a good moan at the AGM but nothing much seems to have happened! :wall::devil:

Good to see Gott in uniform
